 Bookbinding Methods


I became acquainted with various bookbinding methods due to my artistic practise,
where I would write, illustrate, and design my materials to be presented in the form
of a book. I rely on stitch binding most of the time as I enjoy a more traditional
approach; the following are the sewing methods I’ve had experience with:

These are the tools I use for bookbinding:
My bookbinding skills include:
· folding and trimming paper with precision
· sewing the text block
· application of archival adhesives
· sewing head and tail bands
· making cloth-bound hardcovers
· making hardcovers with a spine
· customising slipcases for books
